Nursery Ministry
We are pleased to provide a safe happy place for babies and toddlers for every scheduled service and specified special events. The safety and well-being of your child is our highest priority. With your cooperation, our staff will do all it can to make “church time” an enjoyable and growing experience for your child. Even the youngest baby can be exposed to God’s love through the caring touch of Christians who tend to their needs.
Frequently Asked Questions about Nursery Care
Q. Who is caring for my child?
A. We have paid nursery attendants who primarily focus on the physical needs of the children. They are joined by volunteer caregivers who minister to the children with singing, praying and simple Bible concepts.
Q. What is the procedure when I bring my child to the nursery?
A. A parent or guardian is to sign the child in at the nursery door. The child is to be dropped off and picked up at the door. Only a person over the age of 14 with a parent’s approval may pick up the child.
Q. What do I bring for my child?
A. Please bring a diaper bag clearly labeled with the child’s name. Included in the diaper bag should be the necessary items your child will need – bottles, cups, diapers, etc. All items should be clearly labeled.
Q. What if my child is ill?
A. As much as we would like to care for your children all of the time, we are not able to take sick children into the nursery. Please do not bring children that have fever, diarrhea, vomiting, skin rash or eye discharge. If any of these symptoms become noticeable while a child is in the care of the nursery, you will be asked to take your child from the nursery.
Q. May I come in and check on my child?
A. Once children are placed in the nursery, it is usually best if the child is left until the end of service or until you have been paged by an attendant. It upsets all of the children when they see a parent come.
Q. May I come into the Nursery with my child?
A. For the safety of the children, only approved nursery attendants are allowed into the nursery. Nursing mothers may nurse their baby in the nursing mother’s room (Conference Room B,next to the Café). Changing facilities are available in the restroom next to the nursery.
